Grandma Raya
Nobody ever left Grandma Raya’s table hungry. What I miss most, and remember most, is the smell: after kindergarten or school I’d walk into her home, and the smell of warm food was everything to me.
I only understood how much she had shaped me after she passed away. That’s when I started spending more time in the kitchen. At first it was just cooking, and then it became much more than that. Every dish I got right felt like carrying on something of hers.
